Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, He is far greater than any other gods and lords. He alone is supreme above all, and His steadfast love endures forever. God’s hesed (covenantal and loyal) love reveals His unwavering faithfulness and commitment to honour His covenant. When God made a covenant with Abraham, He passed through the divided pieces of the sacrifice, signifying that He was responsible and committed to the covenant. God bound Himself to His promises. He is utterly committed to His people.

God is the Creator God. The psalmist sings of His great wonders, His ordered creation, and beauty of all that He has made. Every sunrise, every star, every land, every sea proclaims His steadfast love. Give thanks to our Creator God whose faithful love can be seen in every part of His creation.

God is the Deliverer who brought the Israelites out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Pharaoh’s power was no match for His glory, and the passing of the Israelites through the Red Sea is a witness to His salvation. Give thanks to our God who saves and preserves us, for His steadfast love endures forever. In Him, we have victory.

God is the Promise Keeper. He was with Joshua as he led the Israelites into the promised land. Every victory and every fulfilled promises testifies to His faithfulness. Give thanks to our God who fights for us, who goes before us, for His steadfast love endures forever.

All of God’s redemptive acts find their climax in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ came among us as a man, died on the cross, and rose again. He is the living, gracious, and compassionate God who understands our pain and walks with us. In Him we find hope, that sure hope that redemption has been accomplished and will one day be completed in glory. Give thanks to our Saviour God, for His steadfast love endures forever

Today, this same God continues to reach out to us with steadfast love. What would you give thanks to Him for today? May we begin each morning and end each night with a grateful and thankful heart, remembering that His steadfast love truly endures forever.
