Do you really know what kind of God you believe in?

This is not just a question; it is something we all need to reflect on. How you see God will affect how you live, how you pray, and how you deal with your problems. Because the God you believe in will shape what you trust him to do in your life.

In Job 25, Bildad spoke to Job about God’s power and holiness. It is true, God is great and far above us. But Bildad painted only a partial but distorted picture. The God he believed in was so great and holy that he looked down on humans as nothing more than maggots and worms (Job 25:6). From Bildad’s point of view, God is fearsome and distant, a God who makes people feel small and useless.

But in Job 26, Job shows us another side of God.

Likewise, Job saw the greatness of God, he created the sky, rules the sea and moon. Job said, “Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways, and how small a whisper do we hear of him! (Job 26:14). Yes, Job feared God’s power too.

But here is the big difference: Job believed that God was not only powerful, but also near. (Job 23:10) Not only above us, but with us. (Job 7:17)

Job didn’t just know about God; he knew him in his heart. Even when Job went through hard times, he held on to God. He asked questions, he felt pain, but he kept talking to God. Job knew that God is not like people who reject you, he is a God who cares, who listens, and who saves.

Reflection : What is God like in your heart?

Is he distant and stern? Or is he holy and close to you?

Do you trust God just because you are afraid? Or do you walk with him as a friend, getting closer day by day?

Don't just believe in a God. Trust the only true God who has revealed himself to us through Jesus, a God full of truth and love.

Prayer : Dear Father, please help me know you as holy and close. Teach me to trust you with love, not fearful. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

wow
Great Job!You're right on track.
