The TRBC Sunset Service started on 8 October 1988 to cater to the needs of some members who were unable to attend the morning worship. 

More importantly, as one of its original goals, Sunset Service was set up as a Seekers’ Service to attract non-believers. Because of its use of English and Mandarin, people of different nationalities: technicians from China, Hong Kong immigrants, graduates from Malaysia and some Vietnamese students … etc, came for service. 

In the beginning, Sunset Service was managed by a voluntary working committee led by Brother Tan Hooi Lean. For a short period, we had 2 full-time pastors between 1988 and 1999. They were Pastor David Chua (1988 – 1989) and Pastor Steven Tan (1999). During those years without a full-time pastor, God provided many pastors to assist on a part-time basis.

In 1996, Brother Tan Hooi Lean graduated from his Seminary training and was sent by the Baptist Convention to Batam as a missionary to start the Riau Islands Mission. Brother Lam Yuen Foong then took over the leadership. In 1997, a 7-member Council was formed to oversee the planning of ministries. In 1999, Sunset Service had its first retreat. That very year, Pastor Eric Yee was approached to be an advisory Pastor (1999 till present).

Since 2001 till now, brother Lam Yuen Foong volunteered himself as Lay Minister. Pastor Gerald Lim (2006 – 2007) was engaged as the Sunset Congregational pastor. The Sunset Service Ministry focused on the teaching of the Word through Children’s ministry, sermons, cell groups, and modular teaching sessions. On 1 November 2007, Rev. Victor Lim was engaged to take over from Pastor Gerald Lim.

It is the strong conviction of the congregation that man’s plans, programs and personalities will not last，but God’s purpose will. Hence, we are concerned with what God’s purpose for Sunset Service is. We also encourage brothers and sisters to constantly seek for themselves the purpose God has for them.

淡申律浸信教会夕阳崇拜成立于1988年10月8日，当时是应着一些未能赴早堂聚会的会友的需求而增设的，聚会时间在傍晚五时。

当初开始夕阳崇拜另一更重要的目标是要开创一个探索者(Seekers Service)的聚会以吸引慕道友。由于采用双语（华，英），神给与机会能够服事许多不同国家背景的人。（如早期的中国技工，香港移民，来新工作的马来西亚大专毕业生，再后有求学的越南学生等。）

夕阳崇拜成立初期，由陈惠灵弟兄带领自愿者组成的工作小组，负责各样事工。从1988至1999年之间，共有两位全职传道人先后在夕阳崇拜作短时间的事奉，他们是蔡鹤皋传道（1988-1989）及陈纶峰传道（1999）。在没有全职牧者的情况下，神依旧按时差派牧者以部分时间的形式来协助。

1996年，陈惠灵弟兄神学训练毕业，被浸联会差派往巴淡岛开始廖内宣教事工。 同年，蓝润洪弟兄接过棒子，负责夕阳崇拜的运作。自1997年成立七人理事会，夕阳崇拜也开始较有组织性的去策划事工。1999年举行第一次退修会，是年邀请余达富传道为顾问（1999至今）。

2001年蓝润洪弟兄任夕阳崇拜的义务带职传道至今，林良勇传道也于2006-2007年担任夕阳崇拜全职的牧者。2007年11月1日，林子民牧师继任全职牧者。夕阳崇拜事工的重点在于圣经的教导，通过儿童事工，讲台信息，小组，单元课程系列，也鼓励会友在事工的参与。

夕阳崇拜坚守一信念：节目、计划、及人物都未能持久，惟有神的旨意持续不断，故我们甚关注神在夕阳崇拜的旨意。我们亦鼓励弟兄姐妹不断寻求神在他们个人身上的旨意。
